Sixty-five years. Retirement time. Time to retire an albatross that has hounded Sioux City high school basketball far to long. At long last Sioux City has another state high school basketball champion. Kirk Hinrich scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half Saturday night as West High achieved a dream, defeating West Des Moines Valley for the Class 4a state title, 65-57.
